New Health and Recreation Center at Calvin Opens!

The final piece of Calvin's new 360,000 square foot Spoelhof Fieldhouse Complex (SFC) is ready for use. The Hoogenboom Health and Recreation Center will open its doors on Monday, May 18.

The latest addition to the SFC is a renovation of the old fieldhouse. It includes a much enlarged 6,000 square foot health center, complete with exam rooms, lab offices, health support resources and health center employee offices. It will also include classrooms, an expansion of the human performance lab and more space for dance activities, among other features.

The new health center will be in full use once the summer programs start in early June. Vice President for Administration, Finance and Information Services, Henry DeVries, says that when students return for the fall semester they will have a whole new set of services and facilities available to them.
