Today, Wednesday, November 8, the Calvin College Observatory will have special
afternoon open hours to view the transit of Mercury across the disk of the Sun.
This begins at 2:12 pm EST and will be visible until sunset around 5:25 pm.
Media are invited to attend.
Says Calvin College astronomy professor Larry Molnar: "If you miss today,
your next opportunity to see this unusual event will be May 9, 2016, weather
permitting."
