Volleyball Retains Top Spot in National Poll;
Lodewyk and Kamp Receive MIAA Weekly Volleyball Honors;
McCaw Named MIAA Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
VOLLEYBALL
The Calvin volleyball team is once again the top-ranked team in Division III volleyball. The Knights received all 67 first place votes in this week's poll released Tuesday afternoon.
Northwestern of Minnesota is ranked second followed by Southwestern of Texas in third and Wittenberg in fourth.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Calvin volleyball team swept the MIAA weekly honors this week. Anna Kamp was named the Player of the Week by the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) and Jenna Lodewyk was named the Specialty Player of the Week. The two helped propel Calvin to four victories this past week, including three victories over ranked competition. Both were named to the Trinity Invitational All-Tournament Team, with Kamp being named the MVP.
Kamp a junior from Orland Park, Illinois, earned Player of the Week honor for the first time this season and for the fourth time in her career. Kamp recorded 68 kills last week, including a career-high 19 kills against UW-Oshkosh and Cal Lutheran. She averaged 4.53 kills-per-set and tallied 34 digs and five total blocks.
Lodewyk, a senior from Villa Park, Illinois, was named Specialty Player of the Week for the first time in 2017 and the sixth time in her career. Lodewyk averaged 9.73 assists-per-set and had 146 for the week. She finished the week with four service aces, 25 digs and seven blocks. Lodewyk recorded 21 kills last week, with a .364 hitting percentage.
The Knights return to action on Wednesday when they resume MIAA play against the Olivet Comets.
MEN'S SOCCER
For the third time in his career, Calvin College junior Bobby McCaw has been named the MIAA Offensive Player of the Week in men's soccer.
McCaw (Dubuque, Ia./Hempstead HS) scored a pair of goals and assisted on another in leading Calvin to the championship of the Cal Bergsma Memorial Tournament this past weekend.
McCaw scored the game-winning goal in the second overtime of a 2-1 victory over Ohio Wesleyan last Friday.
He then scored a goal on a penalty kick and assisted on a later goal in Calvin's 3-0 win over Lake Forest College on Saturday.
The pair of victories allowed the second-ranked Knights to finish as Cal Bergsma Tournament champions as the Knights were the only team to finish the tournament undefeated.
Calvin is back in action on Friday when it travels to Case Western Reserve University for a 7 p.m. game.
