CALVIN SPRING 5K CLASSIC
The annual Calvin Spring 5K Classic was held early Saturday morning on the Calvin campus. Robert Hyde was the men's winner of the open race in a time of 16:58 while Madelyn Frens was the women's winner in a time of 20:02. Saturday's race feature over 1,100 registrants.

WOMEN'S TENNIS
Calvin 5, Kalamazoo 4
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Calvin women's tennis team secured a clutch 5-4 conference victory on Senior Day Saturday afternoon at Calvin's Strikwerda Tennis Courts. The Knights have now won eight consecutive matches and finish second in the final MIAA regular season standings with a 7-1 conference mark.
Calvin (13-6 overall) also secures the No. 2 seed for the upcoming MIAA Tournament and will host Kalamazoo in a semifinal match Thursday at 4 p.m.

ANGOLA, Ind. - The Calvin women's lacrosse completed an undefeated league campaign with a 19-6 victory at Trine University Saturday afternoon. The Knights finish their league campaign with an 8-0 record and will carry an overall record of 10-5 into an MIAA Tournament semifinal meeting against Albion on May 3 at Calvin's Zuidema Field.
Wednesday's MIAA Tournament semifinal at Calvin is set to begin at 4 p.m.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Calvin swept a Saturday doubleheader from the visiting Olivet Comets, winning by scores of 4-0 and 17-10. The Knights move into sole possession of fourth place in the MIAA standings heading into the final week of regular season play.
The Knights are 18-18 overall and 12-12 in the MIAA.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Calvin closed out its 2017 season with a doubleheader split against Olivet Saturday afternoon at the Gainey Athletic Complex. The Knights won the opener 2-1 and dropped the nightcap 6-3. Calvin finishes the year with an overall record of 20-20 and a conference mark of 5-11.

MEN'S GOLF
WEST OLIVE, Mich. - The Calvin men's golf team concluded play at the 2017 MIAA Spring (NCAA) Qualifying Tournament with a first place performance in the final 18-hole round of the 54-hole tournament.
Calvin posted a team score of 290 strokes on Saturday at the Wuskowhan Player's Club, finishing two strokes ahead of host Hope.
Hope finished five strokes ahead of Calvin in the final overall standings however to claim the MIAA's automatic bid to the NCAA III Tournament next month.
Junior Ben VanScoyk (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) led Calvin with a sizzling round of 69 to finish second individually on Saturday. Junior John Van Noord (Troy, Mich./Oakland Christian HS) tied for third place individually with a round of 70.
Sophomore Sam Kuiper (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) had a 74 and freshman Joshua Song (Diamond Bar, Ca./Diamond Bar HS) carded a round of 77.
Junior Matthew Lumbantoruan (Jakarta, Indonesia/Morningstar Academy) rounded out Calvin's finishers with a round of 81.
Winton Munch of Hope was Saturday's medalist with a round of 68.
Calvin concludes its season next Saturday, hosting the Knight Alumni Cup at the Watermark Country Club.

WOMEN'S GOLF
CASCADE, Mich. - The Calvin women's golf team closed the season with a 3-1 victory in a match play competition over Cornerstone on Saturday.
"Today was a strong finish to this season with a young group," said Calvin head coach Jerry Bergsma. "We had two sophomores and one freshman get a lot of experience this season. It was a nice win for Amira to close her four years of hard work and dedication."
Sophomore Nicole VanderYacht (Kentwood, Mich./South Christian) won four and three.
Sophomore Grace Bolt (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian) was victorious on Saturday five and four.
Senior Amira Bousaab (Grand Rapids, Mich./Northpointe Christian) closed her career with a nine and eight victory.
Freshman Jessica Zylstra (Grand Rapids, Mich./Northpointe Christian) fell on Saturday, three and two.
