WOMEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING
SHENANDOAH, TX - The Calvin women's swimming and diving team placed 12th at the NCAA III Swimming and Diving Championships on Saturday night, finishing with a final team score of 92.5 points. Junior Abby Van Harn (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) led the charge by finishing tied for third in the 100 freestyle to claim individual NCAA III All-America honors for the second time at the meet. She was also a part of Calvin's 13th place 400 freestyle relay team that garnered honorable mention All-America accolades.

MEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING
SHENANDOAH, TX - The Calvin men's swimming and diving team placed 37th at the NCAA III Swimming and Diving Championships. Junior Michael Moentmann (Solon, Oh./Solon HS) took 21st on the three-meter diving board Saturday afternoon.

WHEATON, Il. - The Calvin baseball team picked up a pair of non-conference victories on Saturday, defeating St. Mary's of Minnesota 6-5 and Wheaton (Il.) 4-1. The Knights are now 2-4 on the year and will spend the next four days in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Calvin is scheduled to face Maryville College in a twinight doubleleheader on Monday beginning at 5 p.m.

CLERMONT, Fl. - The Calvin softball team improved to 5-1 on the season with non-conference victories over Allegheny and Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday. The Knights defeated Allegheny 5-1 and then won a 14-13 thriller over Ohio Wesleyan.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Amherst 52, Tufts 29
On Saturday night, Amherst completed a perfect 33-0 season with a 52-29 victory over conference rival Tufts University in the national final at Calvin's Van Noord Arena. Saturday's national final marked the first time in NCAA III basketball history that two conference opponents have met in a national final. Tufts (30-3) and Amherst are both members of the New England Small College Athletic Conference. All three defeats that Tufts suffered this year came at the hands of Amherst.
On Saturday, Amherst established a new NCAA III record for fewest points allowed in a national final in either men's or women's basketball.
The game also marked the second national final in three years at Calvin's Van Noord Arena.
