CALVIN KNIGHT SPORTS REPORT FOR MAY 8, 2016
WOMEN'S LACROSSE
The Calvin women's lacrosse team has drawn its NCAA III Tournament assignment. The Knights will travel to St. John Fisher University in Rochester, New York. The Knights (12-5) will face the Cardinals (16-3) in a second round game this coming Saturday at 1 p.m. Both teams received first round byes.
The game will be at Fisher's Growney Stadium. Ticket information will be announced in the near future.
Calvin is making its first appearance in the NCAA III Tournament. The Knights advanced to the NCAA III Tournament by winning the MIAA Tournament title Saturday afternoon with a 12-11 win over Albion.
Under the direction of fourth-year head coach Blake Boehm, the Calvin women's lacrosse team is in its fourth year as a varsity program. The Knights have produced a won-loss record of 37-29 under the direction of Boehm.
St. John Fisher advanced to the NCAA III Tournament by winning the Empire 8 Tournament title this past weekend, defeating conference rival Ithaca 9-8 in the Empire 8 Tournament final.
The Cardinals have been ranked in the IWLCA Coaches Division III Top 20 poll for most of the season. St. John Fisher is making its fifth consecutive appearance in the NCAA III Tournament including its seventh overall.
