MEN'S BASKETBALL

Calvin College senior Jordan Brink has been named a Capital One Division III All-American in men's basketball as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

A native of Dyer, Indiana, Brink has been named to the Capital One Division III All-America second team. A graduate of Illiana Christian High School, Brink is the fourth individual in Calvin men's basketball history to be named a (CoSIDA) Academic All-American. Steve Honderd (1992 and 1993), Chris Knoester (1993 and 1994) and Aaron Winkle (1999 and 2000) were previously so honored.

Brink is in the midst of a standout senior campaign, averaging 18.6 points and 5.6 rebounds a game while connecting on 44.7 percent of his three-point field goal attempts and 91.6 percent of his free throw attempts. His free throw percentage currently ranks him second on the NCAA III statistics list.

Brink currently ranks ninth on the Calvin career scoring list with 1,430 points. He also ranks third on the Calvin career list for made three-point field goals (199) and is tied for fourth on the Calvin career list for assists (270). A 91.2 percent career free throw shooter, he is on pace to become Calvin's career leader in that category. He holds the Calvin single-season record for free throw percentage, connecting on 95.7 percent of his free throw attempts during the 2012-13 season.

Brink was a member of the All-MIAA first team and D3hoops.com Great Lakes All-Region third team in 2014.
This year he has been a three-time MIAA Player of the Week and has been named to the D3hoops.com National Team of the Week once.
In the classroom, Brink holds a double major of business marketing and sports management. He is a two-time member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll and was a member of the NABC (National Association of Basketball Coaches) Honors Court last summer. He is currently serving an internship with the Grand Rapids DRIVE professional basketball team -- a D' League affiliate of the Detroit Pistons.

Calvin student-athletes have now received CoSIDA Academic All-America honors 111 times including four times during the 2014-15 academic year with Travis Vegter (men's soccer, 2nd team), Elise Biesboer (women's volleyball, 3rd team) and Maggie Kamp (women's volleyball, 1st team) having previously been honored.

MEN'S AND WOMEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING

The Calvin College men's and women's swimming and diving teams have once again received academic awards from the College Swim Coaches Association of America. Both teams have received the CSCAA Fall Team Scholar All-America Award.
The Team Scholar All American award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams, who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The award is presented twice annually, once in the fall semester/term and in the semester/term of the NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships (Winter/Spring).
The Calvin women's team recorded a 3.42 grade point average during the recently completed fall semester. The Calvin men's team recorded a 3.05 grade point average during the fall semester.
