MEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING
Calvin College junior Johnson Cochran is the subject of a feature story by Grand Rapids Press/Mlive.com reporter Peter Wallner posted earlier today. A native of Mount Vernon, Ohio, Cochran spent the fall semester studying abroad in Hungary. A two-time NCAA III All-American, Cochran has come back strong to post solid times and will help lead the Calvin men's swimming and diving team in its bid for a second consecutive league title at the MIAA Championships this week in Holland, Michigan.

The MIAA Swimming and Diving Championships will take place this week in Holland Michigan. Calvin will send seven divers to the meet - four from the women's team and three from the women's team to the meet. TRACK AND FIELD/CROSS COUNTRY
Recent Calvin College graduate Nicole Michmerhuizen recently received the NCAA Top 10 Award in Washington D.C. at the NCAA convention. Michmerhuizen was interviewed at the NCAA convention by Dave McHugh on the "Why D3 Show." WOMEN'S TENNIS
The Calvin women's tennis season is set to begin Thursday night with a home match against Cornerstone University at 6 p.m. inside the Huizenga Tennis and Track Center.
Second-year head coach Kevin Van Haitsma will lead the Knights into action. Calvin returns six letterwinners include senior tri-captains Megan Visser (Kalamazoo/Kalamazoo Christian HS), Courtney Selvius (Hudsonville/Unity Christian HS) and Ali Roode (Jenison/Unity Christian HS).
The Knights were 6-11 overall last spring and just missed out on a spot in the four-team MIAA Tournament, finishing 4-4 in league play which was good for a fifth plae league finish.
The Calvin Sports Information office caught up with head coach Kevin Van Haitsma this week to preview the upcoming season.
