Fan Bus for Calvin Men's Basketball NCAA III Tournament Trip Planned;
Calvin Holds Lead in Commissioner's Cup Standings

Knights Fans,
We're trying to bring a home court advantage to St. Thomas with a fan bus! The
Tommies (ranked #1) will have good fan support. Show your Maroon and Gold
spirit by coming to the game with us! Your costs will include a bus ride to the
game, a ticket, pizza reception post-game and hotel.
Here's the breakdown:
-$82 per person for the bus ride
-Cost of the game ticket
-$100 for a hotel room (multiple people can stay in a room). We will stay at
the Holiday Inn Express in Woodbury (off of I-94 about 20 minutes east of St.
Thomas).
-FREE post-game pizza reception
The bus will stop for other meals. You will be responsible for these costs.
*Please note that in order for the bus run we need it full. Our deadline is
Thursday at noon! If it is not full, we will have to cancel. If you're
interested please call the alumni office at 616-526-6142.
MIAA NEWS
Calvin College holds the lead in the latest set of MIAA Commissioner's Cup
standings as well as in the standings for the MIAA Men's and Women's All-Sports
Awards.
Calvin has a first place total of 147 points in the MIAA Commissioner's Cup
standings with Hope second with 126 points. In the men's individual
(all-sports) standings, Calvin has 68 points with Hope second with 56 points.
In the women's individual (all-sports) standings, Calvin has 79 points with
Hope second with 70 points.
This year, Calvin has captured nine MIAA regular season champoinships, winning
league titles in men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer,
volleyball, men's golf, men's and women's basketball and women's swimming and
diving.
· The MIAA Commissioner’s Cup award is based on the cumulative performance of
each member school in the league's 20 sports for men and women.
· The final Commissioner’s Cup standings is determined on the basis of each
college's standings in nine of ten sports for men and nine of ten sports for
women. All eight fall sports and all four winter sports are tabulated in this
tabulation. Point totals are based 5 of 6 highest point totals for men and 5 of
6 highest point totals for women for each school.
· Hope won the 2011-12 Commissioner’s Cup.
· The Commissioner’s Cup (All-Sports Award) has been presented since 1934-35.
Hope has won the award 34 times, followed by Kalamazoo 15, Albion 14, Calvin 8
& Alma 5.
