Ben Cok Name to All-MIAA First Team in Baseball;
2013 NCAA III Men's Basketball Tournament to Feature a One-Time Twist;
Calvin Places Second in MIAA Commissioner's Cup Standings
BASEBALL
Calvin College junior Ben Cok has been named to the All-MIAA first team in
baseball. A native of Grand Rapids and a graduate of Grand Rapids Christian
High School, Cok batted .321 in 28 league games this spring while driving in 17
runs and scoring 18 runs himself. He was credited with nine extra-base hits
including three home runs. He had a slugging percentage of .526. He was also
11-for-12 in stole base attempts.
Cok finished tied for second in the MIAA in home runs, tied for sixth in runs
scored, tied for fourth in runs batted in, tied for fifth in total bases and
tied for second in stolen bases. He also led the MIAA in walks (16) and was
third in on-base percentage (.444) and slugging percentage.
A third baseman, Cok is receiving All-MIAA first team honors for the first
time in his career.

MIAA ALL-SPORTS STANDINGS
Calvin College has finished second in the final MIAA Commissioner's Cup
standings. The Knights have also finished second in the men's all-sports race
and the women's all-sports race. Hope took first place in the final (men's and
women's combined) Commissioner's Cup standings with 213 points with Calvin
second with 182. Hope took first place in both the men's and women's all-sports
standings as well, finishing with 112 points on the women's side and 101 points
on the men's side while Calvin had 106 points in the women's standings and 76
points in the men's standings.
*The MIAA Commissioner’s Cup award is based on the cumulative performance of
each member school in the league's 18 sports for men and women.
*The final Commissioner’s Cup standings are determined on the basis of each
college's standings in eight of nine sports for men and eight of nine sports
for women.
*Hope College has won the Commissioner’s Cup 12 consecutive years.
*The Commissioner’s Cup (All-Sports Award) has been presented since 1934-35.
Hope has won the award 34 times, followed by Albion 14, Kalamazoo 13, Calvin 9
and Alma 5.
