Calvin will be facing the University of Chicago for the second straight year in NCAA III Tournament play. A year ago, Chicago defeated Calvin 67-62 in a second round game at Calvin's Van Noord Arena.

MEN'S AND WOMEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING

Two Calvin swimmers have received invitations to the NCAA III Swimming and Diving Championships scheduled to be held March 21-24 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Representing the Calvin men's team will be junior Mark Rushlow. Represending the Calvin women's team will be junior Elizabeth Counsell.

Both swimmers will be traveling to their home state as Rushlow is from Goshen, Indiana (Northridge HS) while Counsell is from Indianapolis (Heritage Christian HS).

Rushlow has qualified in the 100 butterfly where he is seeded eighth with a time of 49.33. Counsell has qualified in the 100 breaststroke where she is seeded third (1:03.62).

Rushlow will be making his second appearance at the national meet while Counsell will be traveling to the national meet for the third straight year. Rushlow competed at the 2010 national meet in the 100 and 200 butterfly but did not score in either event. He did not qualify for the national meet in 2011.

In 2010, Counsell was 11th at the national meet in the 200 breaststroke. In 2011, she placed 16th in the 100 breaststroke and earned an All-America berth in the 200 breaststroke with a seventh place finish.

Diving selections are scheduled to be announced early this week. Calvin sophomore diver Andy Krafft (Fort Wayne, IN/Home Schooled) is expected to be part of the men's field.
