A native of Hudsonville and a graduate of Unity Christian High School, Prins
is receiving her second All-America citation of the year. Last month she was
named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division III
All-America third team.
A forward, Prins led Calvin in scoring this fall with 12 goals, two assists
and 26 points. She finished her career with 39 goals, 18 assists and 96 points,
ranking 10th on the Calvin career list for goals, 12th on the Calvin career
list in points and 14th on the Calvin career list in assists. Of her 39 career
goals, 12 were game-winners..
Earlier this fall, she was named the MIAA’s Most Valuable Player and landed a
spot on the All-MIAA first team for the fourth straight year. She is one of 12
individuals in MIAA women’s soccer history to receive All-MIAA first team
honors four consecutive years. Also a strong student, Prins was named to the
ESPN Academic All-District IV third team this fall while majoring in physical
education and minoring in health education.
During the course of her career, Prins was a part of three MIAA championship
teams, two teams that captured the MIAA Tournament and four teams that reached
the NCAA III Tournament. During her career, Calvin teams posted an overall
won-loss record of 64-13-9.
The Calvin women’s soccer team finished 15-3-2 overall this year, reaching the

Colago meanwhile is receiving All-America accolades for the first time.
Colago hails from Anoka, Minnesota. A defensive back out of Anoka High School,
Colago was a strong presence on Calvin’s defensive backline while also
providing steady support to the Calvin offensive attack. He scored four goals
and picked up one assist during the year for a total of seven points. He scored
a goal in Calvin’s 2-0 first round NCAA III Tournament victory over Ohio
Northern and then tallied the game-tying goal in Calvin’s second round NCAA III
Tournament game against Dominican University.
In a third round NCAA III Tournament game against Wisconsin-Whitewater, he
ripped in the game-winning penalty kick in an epic 9-8 Calvin shootout victory
win. Colago was also named to the All-MIAA first team during the year.
Under the direction of head coach Chris Hughes, the Calvin men’s soccer team
finished the 2010 season with an overall record of 16-3-5, earning a share of
the MIAA title with a 9-2-3 conference record. The Knights also advanced to the
NCAA III Tournament for the fourth straight year, reaching the national
quarterfinals before falling to Wisconsin-Oshkosh 1-0 in an “Elite Eight” game.
The 2010 D3soccer.com All-America teams were chosen by D3soccer.com staff,
