Calvin Grad Picks Up Speed on Pro Cycling Circuit

SALT LAKE CITY, UT -- Brad White, a 2005 Calvin College graduate, is making an impressive mark on the professional bicycling circuit. On Wednesday, White earned the 2009 Tour of Utah's King of the Mountains jersey after an impressive climb through the mountains on the first stage of the five-day, five-stage race. In 2008, his attacking style earned him the Tour of Utah's sprinter jersey.

After two stages of the 2009 race, White is currently in 29th place overall. To follow the Tour of Utah, please visit the race web site at: http://www.tourofutah.com/

White is currently racing for the OUCH pro cycling team presented by Maxxis. The team is headlined by well-known cyclists Floyd Landis and Chris Baldwin.

At Calvin, White was a standout on the men's swim team, claiming All-America honors eight times. He continues to hold the Calvin school record in the 100 freestyle (46.21). After graduating from Calvin with a degree in education, White became a school teacher while also winning several weekend triathlons throughout the United States. His wife Jenny (Los), a 2003 Calvin College graduate, is also a former Calvin swimmer and successful triathlete.
