Marcia Harris Named MIAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week

Calvin center Marcia Harris, a senior from Grand Rapids (GR Christian HS),
scored 57 points in two games in leading the Knights to the championship of the
Wisconsin Lutheran Tip-Off Tournament.

She scored a career-high 35 points in just 28 minutes in powering Calvin to a
65-58 victory over Elmhurst (Ill.), then came back to score 22 points in 22
minutes as the Knights defeated host Wisconsin Lutheran 79-57 in the
championship game. Harris made 21-of-28 shots from the field (75 percent) and
15-of-19 from the foul line (78 percent). She also grabbed 10 rebounds in the
two games.

It’s the third Player of the Week honor of Harris’ career.

Calvin returns to action on Tuesday night when it travels to Kalamazoo for a
7:30 p.m. contest.
