Marcia Harris and Caleb Veldhouse Receive D3hoops.com Great Lakes All-Region
Honors;
Baseball vs Aquinas Postponed - Women's Tennis With Alma Rescheduled

MEN'S AND WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

A pair of Calvin basketball players have received Great Lakes All-Region honors
from D3hoops.com. On the women's side, junior Marcia Harris has been named to
the D3hoops.com Great Lakes All-Region first team. On the men's side, junior
Caleb Veldhouse has been named to the Great Lakes All-Region second team.

A native of Grand Rapids and a graduate of Grand Rapids Christian High School,
Harris is receiving D3hoops.com Great Lakes All-Region honors for the second
straight year. She was a third team selection a year ago.

Harris is the 11th player in Calvin women’s basketball history to reach the
1,000-point plateau. Heading into her senior year, Harris has 1,246 points and
is in sixth place on the all-time Calvin women’s basketball scoring list. A
three-time first team All-MIAA selection, Harris averaged 18 points and 6.3
rebounds a game this season. She also connected on 54 percent of her field goal
attempts and 73 percent of her free throw attempts.

A native of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and a graduate of Sioux Falls Christian
High School, Veldhouse is receiving D3hoops.com Great Lakes All-Region honors
for the third straight year as he was a third team selection in 2006 and
2007.Veldhouse hit the 1,000-point mark in midseason and continued to move up
the all-time Calvin scoring chart as the year progressed.

Heading into his senior season, the 6-2 guard has 1,292 points in his Calvin
career and is in 11th place on the all-time Calvin men’s basketball scoring
list. A three-time first team All-MIAA selection, Veldhouse is the 18th player
in Calvin men’s basketball history to score more than 1,000 points as a member
of the Knights. A three-year starter in the backcourt, Veldhouse averaged 17.2
points a game this season while connecting on 42.6 percent of his three-point
field goal attempts.

BASEBALL AND WOMEN'S TENNIS RESCHEDULED

The Calvin/Aquinas baseball game scheduled for today has been postponed because
of wet field conditions and has been rescheduled for Thursday, March 20, at
4:00 p.m. The game will be played at Kimble Stadium in the Grand Rapids suburb
of Wyoming. Meanwhile, the women's tennis match with Alma, originally scheduled
for March 18, has been rescheduled for April 22 at 3:00 p.m. at Calvin.
