BASEBALL

Calvin's scheduled baseball doubleheader at Hope today has been postponed
because of rain. The doubleheader will be made up on Friday at Hope with first
pitch set for 2:00 p.m. The series will continue on Saturday with a twinbill at
Calvin beginning at 1:00 p.m. All four games are scheduled to be broadcast via
RealAudio through the Calvin web site at:

MEN'S AND WOMEN'S TENNIS TEAMS PREPARE FOR MIAA TOURNAMENT COMPETITION

(From MIAA Publicist Tom Renner)

The design of the MIAA's season-ending tournaments has changed from flight
play to a team format. This conforms with changes made by the NCAA to allow
conferences to automatically qualify their champion to the national tournament.
This year's MIAA tournament champion in women's tennis will gain an automatic
berth in the NCAA tournament.

This year's champion in men's tennis will not gain an automatic berth because
the MIAA does not meet the requirement of having at least seven competing
teams. (Tri-State is a provisional NCAA member.)
