CALVIN SPORTS REPORT FOR APRIL 12, 2007
BASEBALL/SOFTBALL GAMES RESCHEDULED;
MEN'S TENNIS PREPARES FOR GLCA TOURNAMENT AT ALBION
Calvin's Thursday baseball and softball doubleheaders with Adrian have been
rescheduled because of wintry weather conditions. In baseball, Calvin will open
its four-game series at Adrian on Friday in a doubleheader slated to start at
2:00 p.m. Calvin was originally scheduled to host the twinbill on Thursday and
then had the home doubleheader moved to Friday. Now Calvin will be the visitor
on Friday and then host the Bulldogs on Saturday in a doubleheader scheduled to
begin at 1:00 p.m. The move was made to give Calvin's field a chance to dry
from the mid-week snowfall.
On the softball front, Calvin's doubleheader with Adrian has been rescheduled
for Tuesday, May 1. The doubleheader will begin at 3:30 p.m. and Calvin will
serve as host.
MEN'S TENNIS
Albion College will host the Great Lakes Colleges championships this weekend.
Joining host Albion will be teams from Calvin, Carnegie-Mellon, Denison,
DePauw, Hope, Kalamazoo, Kenyon, Oberlin, Wabash, and Wooster.
The Friday matches will be played indoors. The sites include the Ungrodt Tennis
Center on the Albion campus, the Minges Creek Athletic Club in Battle Creek,
and the Markin Racquet Center on the Kalamazoo campus.
The Friday schedule begins with 8 a.m. matches between Hope vs. Wooster, Kenyon
vs. Denison, Calvin vs. Oberlin, and Albion vs. Wabash. The tournament bracket
