CALVIN SPORTS REPORT FOR FEBRUARY 25, 2007 (Part One)

WOMEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING TEAM SENDING 12 TO NCAAs

The Calvin women's swimming and diving team will send a record 12 athletes to
the upcoming NCAA III Championships set to be held March 8-10 in Houston,
Texas. The national meet will be held at the University of Houston.

Scheduled to compete for the Calvin women will be seniors Becky Weima and Alex
Wilson, juniors Kat Vinson and Stephanie Duncan, sophomores Erica Deur, Jordan
Scott, Cara VanWoerkom and Julie Wolfe and freshmen Katie White, Emily Roberts,
Laura Price and Casey Herman.

Calvin will compete in all five relays. Calvin's 200 freestyle relay is seeded
number-one (1:34.39); its 400 medley relay is seeded seventh (3:56.58); its 200
medley relay team is seeded 14th (1:48.64); its 800 freestyle relay team is
seeded fifth (7:40.66) and its 400 freestyle relay team is seeded fifth
(3:30.42).

BIOS OF CALVIN'S NCAA III CHAMPIONSHIPS TEAM

*Becky Weima (Caledonia/Grand Rapids Christian HS) - Weima will be making her
fourth straight appearance at the NCAA III Championships. She will compete in
the 50 freestyle where she is seeded second (23.67), the 100 freestyle where
she is seeded sixth (51.86) and the 200 freestyle where she is the top seed
(1:50.67). Weima is the two-time defending national champion in the 200
freestyle and the defending national champion in both the 50 and 100 freestyle
events. She is also scheduled to compete on Calvin's 200, 400 and 800 freestyle
relays as well as its 400 medley relay.

*Alex Wilson (Ellsworth, OH/Western Reserve HS) -- Wilson is making her third
straight appearance at the NCAA III Championships. She will compete in the 100
breaststroke where she is seeded fourth (1:05.59), in the 200 breaststroke
where she is seeded eighth (2:23.44) and in the 200 IM where she is seeded 13th
(2:08.93).

*Kat Vinson (Kaneohe, HI/Punahou HS) -- Vinson is making her third straight
appearance at the NCAA III Championships. She will compete in the 50 freestyle
where she is seeded 12th (24.05) and in the 100 freestyle where she is seeded
10th (52.53). She will also swim on Calvin's 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle
relays.

*Stephanie Duncan (Long Grove, IL/Adlai E. Stevenson HS) -- Duncan is also
making her third straight appearance at the NCAA III Championships. She will
compete in the 100 freestyle where she is seeded 32nd (53.51) and in the 200
freestyle where she is seeded 13th (1:54.36). She will also swim on Calvin's
400 freestyle and 800 freestyle relay teams.

*Erica Deur (Holland/Holland Christian HS) -- Deur is making her second
straight appearance at the NCAA III Championships. A year ago, Deur was a
two-time NCAA III All-American, finishing as the national runner-up on the
three-meter board and in sixth place on the one-meter board.

*Jordan Scott (Oakville, ON/Kings Christian Collegiate) -- Scott is making her
second straight appearance at the NCAA III Championships. Scott will swim as a
member of Calvin's 200 medley and 400 medley relay teams.

*Cara VanWoerkom (Wyoming/Calvin Christian HS) -- VanWoerkom is making her
second straight appearance at the NCAA III Championships. VanWoerkom will swim
as a member of Calvin's 200 freestyle and 800 freestyle relay teams.

*Julie Wolfe (Westerville, OH/Westerville North HS) -- Wolfe is making her
second straight appearance at the NCAA III Championships. Wolfe will swim as a
member of Calvin's 200 medley and 400 medley relay teams.

*Katie White (Leland/Grand Rapids Christian HS) -- White is making her first
trip to the NCAA III Championships. She will compete in the 100 breaststroke
where she is seeded second (1:05.17), in the 50 freestyle where she is seeded
sixth (23.86) and in the 100 freestyle where she is seeded ninth (52.52). White
will also swim as a member of Calvin's 200 freestyle, 400 freestyle and 200
medley relay teams.

*Emily Roberts (DeKalb, IL/DeKalb HS) -- Roberts is making her first trip to
the NCAA III Championships. She will compete in the 100 breaststroke where she
is seeded 17th (1:06.70) and in the 200 breaststroke wehre she is seeded 23rd
(2:26.41). She will also swim as a member of Calvin's 200 medley and 400 medley
relay teams.

*Laura Price (Warren, PA/Warren HS) -- Price is making her first trip to the
NCAA III Championships. She will compete as a member of Calvin's 800 freestyle
relay team.

*Casey Herman (Libertyville, IL/Libertyville HS) -- Herman is making her first
trip to the NCAA III Championships. She will join Deur as one of two Calvin
competitors on the one and three-meter diving boards.

**Other Calvin Women's Swimming and Diving Notes**

*Calvin will be sending the fifth-highest amount of athletes to the NCAA III
Women's Swimming and Diving championships, surpassed only by Middlebury (13),
Denison (14), Emory (14) and Kenyon (18).

*The Calvin women will be sending two divers to the national meet for the first
time.

*Last year, Calvin finished tied for sixth with Denison at the NCAA III
Championships with 199 points. The finish was Calvin's best-ever at the
national meet.
