Women's Basketball Team Moves Up To #3 In National Polls
The Calvin women's basketball team has received its highest-ever national
ranking. The Knights are ranked third in this week's D3hoops.com Top-25 poll
and also third in this week's Division III USA Today/ESPN Coaches' poll
released this afternoon.
The rankings represent an improvement in both polls for the Knights as they
were ranked seventh in last week's D3hoops.com Top-25 poll and fourth in the
USA Today/ESPN Coaches' poll.
Bowdoin (ME) is the top-ranked team in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches' poll while
Messiah (PA) is the top-ranked team in the D3hoops.com Top-25 poll. In the
coaches' poll, Calvin is one of two MIAA schools in the top four as Hope is
ranked fourth.
Under the direction of head coach John Ross, the Calvin women's basketball team
has recorded a 17-1 overall record and a 10-0 conference mark. The Knights
return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Albion for a 6:00 p.m. game.
