CALVIN SPORTS REPORT FOR MAY 9, 2006 (PART TWO)

MEN’S AND WOMEN’S TRACK FIELD
(Editor’s note: Calvin sophomore Joel Baker was inadvertently omitted from the list of All-MIAA track and field athletes. The following is his bio).

*Joel Baker, Sophomore, (Kalamazoo/Kalamazoo Christian HS) * At the MIAA Field Day, Baker took third in the 200 meters (22.59), second in the 400 meters (50.49) and was a member of Calvin’s first place 4x100 and 4x400 meter relay teams. Baker anchored Calvin’s 4x400 meter relay team, holding off Albion’s anchor man in a thrilling finish, allowing Calvin to clock a first place time of 3:19.41, two-tenths of a second ahead of Albion’s second place team.

*In the last report, it was noted that Calvin senior Camille Medema was now a two-time league champion in the 800 and 1,500 meters. In fact, Medema is a three-time league champion in both events.
