LISA WINKLE NAMED HONORABLE MENTION ALL-AMERICAN BY D3HOOPS.COM
Calvin College junior Lisa Winkle has been named an honorable mention
All-American by D3hoops.com.
A 6-0 center, Winkle is receiving All-America honors from D3hoops.com for the
first time. A native of Grand Rapids and a graduate of South Christian High
School, Winkle averaged 15.7 points and 9.8 rebounds a game while connecting on
59.7 percent of her field goal attempts. Winkle also averaged 2.4 blocks, 2.1
assists and 1.7 steals per game. She was ranked among the NCAA III leaders in
field goal percentage and blocks-per-game throughout the year and notched
double-digits in scoring in 27 of a possible 28 games along with 16
double-double (points and rebounds) efforts. She also helped Calvin gain its
second straight NCAA III Tournament bid and a Top-25 national ranking as the
Knights closed out the season with a 23-5 overall mark.
Winkle is currently fourth on the Calvin career scoring list with 1,273 points
and third on the Calvin career rebounding list with 720 rebounds.
Winkle was one of two players from the MIAA to be honored by D3hoops.com as
Hope senior guard Bria Ebels was named a fourth team All-American by
