CALVIN SPORTS REPORT FOR MARCH 7, 2006

WEIMA FEATURED IN SPORTS ILLUSTRATED'S "FACES IN THE CROWD"

Calvin College junior Becky Weima will be underneath the national spotlight in
more ways than one this week. The Grand Rapids Christian High School graduate
is featured in the upcoming issue of Sports Illustrated in its "Faces in the
Crowd" section which can be viewed on-line at:

A native of Caledonia, Weima also is scheduled to compete in the 50, 100 and
200 freestyle events at the NCAA III Swimming and Diving Championships this
weekend in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is the top seed in all three individual
events. She will also swim on four relay teams including Calvin's top-seeded
200 freestyle relay team.

Weima is the second Calvin athlete to be recognized as a "Faces in the
Crowd" athlete by Sports Illustrated as Todd Hennink was also so honored in
1990 after connecting on 12 of 14 three-point field goals in a victory over
Malone College. Like Weima, Hennink is also a graduate of Grand Rapids
Christian High School.

Weima is recognized in the upcoming issue of Sports Illustrated for her
performances at the recent MIAA Swimming and Diving Championships. At the MIAA
Championships, Weima took first place in the 100 (50.95), 200 (1:49.65) and 500
(4:59.53) freestyle events, establishing MIAA records in all three events. She
also established a new MIAA record in the 50 freestyle (23.52) while leading
off Calvin's first place 200 freestyle relay team. She also swam legs on
Calvin's first place 400 and 800 freestyle relay teams as well as its first
place 400 medley relay team. Weima was then named the MIAA's Most Valuable
Swimmer for the third straight year and landed a spot on the All-MIAA team.
