the winning pitcher as she collected her third shutout victory of the year.
Freshman Kelli Szczepanski (8-11) took the loss for Adrian.

In game two, the Knights scored in the first three innings and again in
the fifth inning. In the first inning, junior Jeanne Cole (Fountain/Mason
County Eastern) singled to shortstop and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt.
With two outs, she scored from third base on a single to right field by
Konyndyk.

her school record eighth of the season. The Konyndyk blast was a two-run shot
and gave the Knights a 5-0 lead.

In the fifth inning, sophomore Andrea Wagner (Unity Christian HS) rapped an
RBI single and Roskamp followed with a two-run RBI double that gave the Knights
an eight-run cushion.

Senior Rachelle Heyboer (Fremont HS) then retired the side in order in the

in game one but rebounded to go 2-for-3 in the nightcap. The pair of hits
keeps in first place in the MIAA batting race with a .500 average (27-for-54).
Cole is bidding to become the first MIAA batting champion from Calvin since
Laurie Hiemstra achieved the feat in 1989. Cole's MIAA batting title will not
be official however until Adrian and Kalamazoo complete a makeup doubleheader
next Monday.

With four RBI's on the afternoon, Konyndyk also raised her season total to 34
