AULTMAN AND MCDONALD NAMED MIAA BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

MEN'S BASKETBALL
Calvin senior forward Dan Aultman of Ludington (Mason County Central HS) led
the Knights to the conference tournament championship and a berth in the NCAA

Division III playoffs. In three tournament game victories he did not commit a

turnover in 80 minutes of play. He opened the tournament run, an 86-67 victory

over Kalamazoo, with a double-double of 26 points and 10 rebounds. He followed

in an 82-61 semi-final win over Hope with 16 points on 8-for-12 shooting. In
the championship game, a 63-59 win over Albion, he netted 15 points. In the
games he shot 26-for-42 and was 4-for-6 on free throws with 21 rebounds. He is

being honored for the second time this season and fourth time in his career.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Calvin senior guard Kristen McDonald of Grand Rapids (West Catholic HS) led
the Knights to the conference tournament championship and a berth in the NCAA

Division III playoffs. In the 60-47 championship game victory over Albion, she

had a double-double with 19 points and 11 assists. It followed a
tournament-record 40 point performance in a 74-68 semi-final victory over
Hope. The tournament run began with a 20-point effort in a 78-42 win over
Saint Mary's. For the week she shot 23-for-45 from the floor, including
12-for-25 from three-point range. She was 21-of-24 on free throws with 22
assists and nine rebounds. She is being honored for the fourth time in her
career. During the week, McDonald established a new Calvin single-season
record for assists while also becoming Calvin's all-time assist leader.
