On the week, Draayer was 19 of 30 from the floor including 16 of 25 from three-point range as he finished with a total of 54 points in 42 minutes of playing time.

In a win over Olivet Wednesday night, Draayer fired in seven three-pointers on 11 attempts * en route to finishing with 25 points. He then rolled in a career-high 29 points in a Saturday victory over Alma as he connected on nine three-point field goals * three shy of matching the Calvin single-game record held by 1992 graduate Todd Hennink.

Draayer also collected 11 rebounds during the week including seven in Saturday's win over Alma.

Draayer is currently ranked eighth nationally in three-point field goal percentage (.493). His season total of 81 three-point field goals is also the second-highest single-season total in Calvin men's basketball history.

WOMEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING

In a time trial held Friday night at the MIAA Swimming and Diving Championships in Holland, Calvin sophomore Alex Wilson of Ellsworth, Ohio, shattered one of the oldest records in the Calvin women's swimming books. A graduate of Western Reserve High School, Wilson clocked a strong NCAA III conditional qualifying time of 1:06.70 in the 100 breaststroke Friday night, shattering the previous school record of 1:08.63 established by Stephanie Rhind in 1989. The record by Rhind was the second-oldest in the Calvin books.

Wilson's record performance was part of a big weekend effort by the Calvin women's swim team as it captured its third league crown in the last five years with a final team score of 562 points.

MEN'S AND WOMEN'S TRACK AND FIELD

The Calvin men's and women's track and field teams swung into competition last Friday night at an indoor meet hosted by Grand Valley State University.

The two Calvin teams combined to post four first place performances with junior Nate Meckes (Bay City) highlighting the meeting with a first place throw of 57-5 ¾ in the shot put. Other first place efforts for the Calvin men included senior Kris Koster (Grand Rapids Christian HS) in the 3,000 meters with a time of 8:35.86 and junior Chris Friebel (Shelby, OH) in the 55 meters (6.6). On the women's side, Calvin junior Kim Vanderzee (Shoreline, WA) won the high jump with a big leap of 5-6.
