CALVIN SPORTS REPORT FOR JANUARY 17, 2005
MEN'S BASKETBALL
For the third time in his career, Calvin College senior Dan Aultman has been
named MIAA Player of the Week in men's basketball.
A native of Ludington and a graduate of Mason County Central High School,
Aultman scored 43 points last week on 19 of 26 field goal shooting in leading
Calvin to victories over Kalamazoo and Olivet last week.
In an 89-56 victory over Kalamazoo Wednesday night, the 6-8 Aultman scored 22
points and grabbed six rebounds. He followed with 21 points and four boards in
a 98-68 victory at Olivet Saturday afternoon.
In the two games, Aultman was also credited with three blocked shots and one
assists.
In conference games, Aultman is currently fifth in the MIAA in scoring average
(15.5), seventh in field goal percentage (.591) and tied for fifth in blocked
shots-per-game (1.25). He is also tied for the league lead in free throw
percentage as he is a perfect nine of nine in conference play.
Calvin returns to action on Tuesday night when it journeys to Alma in a battle
of second place teams in the MIAA standings. Calvin is currently 11-4 overall
and 3-1 in the MIAA which has Calvin locked in a three-way tie for second place
in the MIAA standings along with Alma and Adrian.
