CALVIN SPORTS REPORT FOR MARCH 13, 2004

NCAA III WOMEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING CHAMPIONSHIPS

ST. PETERS, MO * The fabulous freshman campaign of Calvin's Rebekah Weima concluded with her third NCAA III All-America berth in as many nights on the final day of competition at the NCAA III Swimming and Diving Championships at the St. Peters Rec Plex.

A graduate of Grand Rapids Christian High School, Weima took fourth place in the 100 freestyle Saturday night for her third consecutive All-America performance. On Thursday, Weima took sixth in the 500 freestyle and followed with a national runner-up berth in the 200 freestyle Friday night.

On Saturday, Weima clocked in at 51.89 seconds, just 1.17 seconds out of first place. Wiema swam consistently, touching the half-way mark in fourth place at 24.8 seconds.

Also competing for Calvin on Saturday were senior Sara TerHaar (Bradenton, FL) on the three-meter diving board and sophomore Abby Johnson (Grand Haven HS) in the 200 butterfly. TerHaar finished 18th on the three-meter board with 304.4 points, while Johnson took 23rd place in the 200 butterfly, turning in a 2:10.56 performance.

Collectively, it enabled Calvin to finish in place in the final team standings with a score of 45 points, good enough for 24th in the overall final standings. Calvin remains with one top-20 finish in its history, that being an 18th place finish in 2001.

MEN'S TENNIS
