CALVIN SPORTS REPORT FOR MARCH 3, 2004

MEN'S CLUB ICE HOCKEY

The Calvin men's club ice hockey team opens play tomorrow morning (7:10 PCT) at the ACHA Division III National Tournament. Top-seeded Calvin (25-1) will face the University of Richmond (VA) in its 7:10 a.m. game. Daily accounts of Calvin's tournament run will be provided Thursday through Saturday.

MEN'S BASKETBALL

Calvin will be making its 14th appearance in the NCAA III Tournament tomorrow night when it takes on host John Carroll University (22-5) at 7:00 p.m.. The game will be broadcast by WFUR 102.9 FM and will also be streamed through Calvin's web site at: www.Calvin.edu/sports.

Calvin is 23-14 all-time in NCAA III Tournament play and is making its first NCAA III Tournament appearance since the 2000-2001 season.

WOMEN'S TENNIS

Calvin evened its record to 1-1 on the year with a 6-3 non-conference victory over Aquinas College Wednesday afternoon at the Champion Fitness Center. Calvin took four of six singles flights and then gained the lone pro-sets doubles point by winning two of three flights.

Calvin returns to action on Saturday when it opens it MIAA campaign with a home dual match against Alma at the Champion Fitness Center scheduled to begin at noon
