WINKLE RECEIVES NATIONAL HONORS FROM D3HOOPS.COM
Calvin College freshman Lisa Winkle has received national recognition for her
play on the basketball court last week as she has been named to the D3hoops.com
Women's Basketball Team of the Week.
Five players are selected each week to represent the top five individuals from
around the country over the previous week of action. The complete D3hoops.com

A native of Grand Rapids and a graduate of South Christian High School, Winkle
is one of two players from the MIAA on the latest D3hoops.com Team of the Week
as Albion junior Sarah Caskey has also been so honored.
Winkle and Caskey shared MIAA Player of the Week honors earlier this week.
Winkle is the first player in Calvin women's basketball history to receive
D3hoops.com Team of the Week honors. Last week, she recorded back-to-back
career-high scoring performances in leading Calvin to victories over Alma and
Tri-State. Winkle had double-double efforts in both games, scoring 17 points
and grabbing 12 rebounds in a 63-52 win over Alma and then notching career
scoring and rebounding highs in a 70-64 win over Tri-State with 27 points and
16 boards.
Calvin returns to action this evening when it travels to St. Mary's for a 7:30
p.m. MIAA contest. Calvin (15-3 overall, 8-1 MIAA) will carry a 13-game
winning streak into tonight's contest.
