    CALVIN SPORTS REPORT FOR MARCH 24, 2003

    MEN'S BASKETBALL

    For the fourth straight year, Calvin senior Jeremy Veenstra has received
    All-America honors from D3hoops.com. A native of Kalamazoo and a graduate of
    Kalamazoo Christian High School, Veenstra was named to the D3hoops.com
    All-America third team. As a freshman during the 1999-2000 season, Veenstra
    received honorable mention All-America recognition from D3hoops.com. He was
    then named to the D3hoops.com All-America fourth in 2001 and to the fourth team
    in 2002.

    Veenstra averaged 16.6 points and 7.6 rebounds a game this year. He was also
    selected to the All-MIAA first team for the fourth straight year, becoming just
    the sixth individual in MIAA men's basketball history to do so. Veenstra
    finished third on the Calvin career scoring list with 1,947 points. He also
    finished second in rebounds (897), third in assists (329) and fourth in blocked
    shots (124).

    Calvin finished the year 16-11 overall and tied for third in the MIAA regular
    season standings at 7-5. Calvin then reached the MIAA Tournament semifinals
    where it was defeated by Hope 81-80 in overtime.
    Veenstra was one of two players from the MIAA named to the D3hoops.com
    All-America squads as Don Overbeek of Hope was named to the second team.
    Wheaton (IL)junior Joel Kolmodin of Hudsonville Unity Christian High School was
    also named to the D3hoops.com All-America first team.
