CALVIN SPORTS REPORT FOR NOVEMBER 4, 2002

    MEN'S SOCCER

Calvin freshman Kurt Visker has been named MIAA co-Defensive Player of the Week
    with Brett Stinar of Kalamazoo.

A native of Grand Rapids and a graduate of Grand Rapids Christian High School,
Visker was superb at the sweeper back position for Calvin last week in a pair of
1-0 defeats to Aquinas and Kalamazoo.

Visker played and started in all 20 of Calvin's games this year at the sweeper
position while also scoring three goals and gaining one assist on the year.

Visker is the third individual from the Calvin men's soccer team to receive MIAA
Player of the Week honors this year as sophomore teammate Joel Veldhouse was
selected MIAA Offensive Player of the Week twice while sophomore and former high
school teammate Joel Vande Kopple was named MIAA Defensive Player of the Week
during the first week of the season.

Calvin closed out its season last weekend with an 11-8-1 overall record, marking
the fifth straight year that the Knights have notched double-digits in
victories. The Knights also finished fourth in the final MIAA standings with a
    6-5-1 conference mark.
