Tricia Dyk Named MIAA Women’s Soccer Player of the Week
GRAND RAPIDS – For the second time this year and for the fifth time in her
career, Calvin College senior Tricia Dyk has been named MIAA Offensive Player of
the Week in women’s soccer.
A native of Grand Haven and a graduate of Western Michigan Christian High
School, Dyk scored four goals and notched two assists last week as Calvin
defeated Kalamazoo 5-2 on Tuesday and then battled Hope to a 2-2 overtime tie on
Saturday. In the victory over Kalamazoo, Dyk scored three goals and picked up
one assist to record her sixth career hat trick and her 22nd career
multiple-goal match. Dyk then scored and a goal and assisted on another in
Saturday’s tie against Hope.
Dyk leads the MIAA in goals, points and assists with 13 goals, seven assists
and 33 points in conference play. In overall games, she has team-leading totals
of 15 goals, 11 assists and 41 points. Dyk has notched at least one point in 12
of Calvin’s 13 games this year and 30 of her last 33 games.
Calvin is currently 8-3-2 overall and 6-1-2 in the MIAA. The Knights are in
second place in the MIAA standings, trailing league-leading Hope by one point.
Calvin returns to action on Wednesday when it travels to Adrian for a 4:00 p.m.
conference match.
