Tricia Dyk and Joel Veldhouse Receive
MIAA Offensive Player of the Week Honors

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Calvin College soccer players Joel Veldhouse and Tricia Dyk
have received MIAA Offensive Player of the Week honors in men's and women's
soccer respectively.

A native of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and a graduate of Sioux Falls Christian
High School, Veldhouse is receiving the award for the first time in his
collegiate career. A transfer from Creighton University, Veldhouse scored a
goal and assisted on the game-winner in a 2-1 win at Alma Saturday afternoon. A
midfielder, Veldhouse leads Calvin in goals (10), assists (4) and points (24).
In conference play, Veldhouse has four goals and two assists and is tied for the
league lead in goals and points. Veldhouse has notched at least one point in
nine of Calvin's 10 games this year. Calvin is currently 6-4-0 overall and
2-2-0 in the MIAA. Veldhouse is the second player from the Calvin men's soccer
team to receive MIAA Player of the Week honors as sophomore teammate Joel Vande
Kopple was named MIAA Defensive Player of the Week earlier this fall.

Dyk hails from Grand Haven and is a graduate of Western Michigan Christian High
School. She is receiving MIAA Player of the Week accolades in women's soccer
for the fourth time in her career. This past week, Dyk scored four goals and
gained one assist as the Knights picked up conference victories over Albion and
Alma to move into a first place tie in the MIAA standings with Hope. In a 4-3
overtime victory over Albion Tuesday, Dyk scored two goals including a
game-tying tally with 15 minutes left in regulation. She then picked up two
goals and one assist in a 4-0 win over Alma Saturday afternoon, boosting her
career totals to 64 goals, 35 assists and 163 points.

Dyk is second on the all-time Calvin list in goals and points and just two
assists shy of the second place mark held by Kristin Penzotti-Mast. In addition,
Dyk now has career MIAA (conference games only) total of 46 goals, 27 assists
and 119 points. Dyk is now fifth on the all-time MIAA list in goals, eighth in
