    CALVIN SPORTS REPORT FOR SEPTEMBER 18, 2001
     
    WOMEN'S GOLF
     
    Calvin finished seventh out of nine competing teams at an MIAA outing hosted by
    Albion Tuesday afternoon at the Medalist Golf Club with a team score of 425
    strokes. Hope took first place as a team with 352 strokes.
     
    Calvin's top finisher was senior Alyssa Bruinsma (Grand Rapids Christian) who
    carded a round of 97 to finish 22nd individually. Freshman Dawn Svenkeson
    (Scandia, MN) was Calvin's second finisher as she finished 28th individually
    with a round of 102. Sophomore Amber Beardslee (Lakeview) was close behind,
    finishing 31st with a round of 103 with sophomore Sarah Giles (Middleville)
    rounding out Calvin's finishers with a round of 123 which placed her 43rd
    individually.
     
    Hope sophomore Lacey Wicksall was the conference medallist Tuesday with a round
    of 77.
     
    Calvin returns to action on Saturday when it competes at the third MIAA outing
    of the year. The outing will be hosted by Adrian at the Lenawee Country Club.
