Tricia Dyk Named to Great Lakes All-Region Second Team

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Calvin College sophomore Tricia Dyk has been named to
the Great Lakes All-Region second team in women's soccer.

A native of Grand Haven and a graduate of Western Michigan Christian
High School, Dyk is receiving All-Region honors for the first time in
    her collegiate career.

A forward, Dyk led Calvin in scoring for the second consecutive year as
she scored 12 goals along with eight assists for 32 points. In
conference play, she came up with 11 goals, seven assists and 29 points
to rank third in the MIAA in goals and points and eighth in assists. Of
her 12 goals this year, four were game-winners. She also received MIAA
Player of the Week accolades during the season, marking the second time
in her career that she has been so honored.

Calvin finished the year with an 11-7 overall record and a second place
MIAA finish as the Knights were 10-4 in conference play. With its 11
victories, Calvin reached the double-digit plateau in victories for the
12th consecutive year. In 13 years of varsity play, Calvin has never
had a losing season and has an overall won-loss record of 172-59-5 for a
    winning percentage of .739.

In receiving all-region accolades, Dyk becomes the eighth individual in
Calvin women's soccer history to receive all-region honors. Since 1993,
Calvin has had its players receive all-region honors 15 teams. Dyk is
the second member of her family to earn Great Lakes All-Region honors in
women's soccer as her older sister Tara was a four-time all-region pick
    between 1995-1998.

Like her older sister Tara, Tricia has also continued her athletic
career on the basketball court as she is starting in the backcourt for
the second consecutive year on the women's basketball team. Dyk is
currently averaging 5.4 points and 2.9 rebounds a game for the Knights
who are 3-4 on the year. In addition, Dyk leads the MIAA in
    steals-per-game with an average of 3.3 steals-per-contest.

The women's basketball team returns to action on December 27 when it
faces Wisconsin-Platteville in the first round of the Clarke College
    Holiday Tournament in Dubuque, Iowa.
