From Cultural Discerners discussing popular culture in the residence halls to planning upcoming concerts and campus-wide conversations with popular artists, the Student Activities Office is a place that seeks to cultivate an appreciation of culture alongside an understanding of deeper redemptive stories.
Student activities board
- The Student Activities Board (SAB) is a volunteer group of students who work with the Student Activities Office (SAO) to discern what artists and films we should present.
- The CD curriculum has focused on developing skills for cultural discernment in aspects of popular culture with a view toward a skill set that could be applied to all parts of life.
Pop Music Guild
- The Pop Music Guild develops emerging student musicians and bands by providing them with mentoring and space for collaboration.
Festival of Faith and Music
The Festival of Faith & Music at Calvin College is a biennial conference that brings together musicians, critics, journalists, artists and listeners for three days of discussing and celebrating insightful music that explores, in some significant way, issues of faith.
