Josiah Elstrom
Hi friends! My name is Josiah, and I’m a junior at Calvin. I’m studying social work and psychology with a minor in global development studies. Originally, I’m from Kansas, but I love the Grand Rapids area, and at this point, it feels like home. I love playing and listening to music, rock climbing, and talking at length about whatever philosophical or theological problem I find most interesting at the time. So excited to meet you and introduce you to our campus!

Bear de Boo
Hello everyone!! I am a junior from Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and Tokyo, Japan! I love making midnight runs to Mcdonald's as well as traveling: I’m always on the go! At Calvin, my absolute favorite place to be is on the main floor of the Hekman Library, where I’ll be for hours on end doing homework and—more importantly—talking to everyone! I can’t wait to welcome you to Calvin University and see you find your favorite hang-out spot!

Lorena Dorantes
Hi everyone! I'm Lorena, and I can't wait to meet you. I've lived in Michigan and Mexico, so I love learning about new cultures. I'm a senior studying sociology with minors in data analytics, Spanish, and gender studies. I love watching the latest binge-worthy docuseries on Netflix and entering Instagram giveaways. My favorite drink at Peet's is the sweet cinnamon black tie or anything free. I can't wait to see you all on campus and hear about your favorite things!

Lauren Abrell
Hi everyone! My name is Lauren, and I'm a senior here at Calvin. I’m so excited to meet all of you. If you hear me say I’m from Chicago, just know I really mean I’m from a small suburb that is 45 minutes southwest of the city. Since coming to Calvin, I have found out that I work best on the fourth floor of the library, I’m terrible at spike-ball and volleyball (but I’m always down to play), and I really enjoy talking to strangers! If you see me around, say hi!!

Hey everyone! My name is Sarina, and I’m a junior here at Calvin. I grew up in Rockford, MI—it’s fifteen minutes away from here. I was adopted from Ethiopia when I was six—it’s my fun fact. I am studying art and French here. I love to go thrifting, find cute coffee shops, read (when I have time), and walk around the city without a destination. I’m always down for trying new foods, drinks, and stuff like that. Welcome to Calvin! I can’t wait to hear your cool stories and favorite coffee orders if you like coffee. (And if not, I’ll convert you!)

Hi, my name is Jenna! I lived in California, Minnesota, and Arkansas before moving here to Grand Rapids for college. I’m a senior here at Calvin studying social work. I love all things related to art, writing, and running, and I truly believe nothing can top good conversation over a cup of coffee. I can’t wait to welcome you to Calvin University and to hear all about your favorite things!

Nuri Lee
Hello! I'm Nuri Lee, and I'm a senior at Calvin studying strategic communication! I am from South Korea, but I lived my whole life in different parts of Africa. I love playing sports, especially soccer and rugby, and I also enjoy Esports (League of Legends). One of my favorite activities is drinking coffee and talking with friends on a sunny Sunday afternoon. I love summer—not a big fan of winter—and I'll see you guys soon! Welcome to Calvin!
