This course focuses on how leaders in Kenya develop businesses, provide health care, organize government and education, respond to crises, address poverty alleviation, promote community development and micro-finance, and conduct worship.

This course focuses on how leaders in Kenya develop businesses, provide health care, organize government and education, respond to crises, address poverty alleviation, promote community development and micro-finance, and conduct worship. Much of the learning will occur through interaction with national and local leaders as the group visits businesses, farms, schools, homes, etc. Students learn about Kenyan history and examine leadership in both urban and rural areas. Students will read selected materials on East Africa and leadership, report on and lead discussions on them, write reflection papers, and journal daily throughout the trip.

This course will fulfill CCE requirements. Fee: $4000. Course dates: January 6–26. P. Snyder, B. Cawley. Off-campus.
