IDIS W11 Camino de Santiago: The Christian Tradition of Pilgrimage

Students experience the ancient Christian practice of pilgrimage, walking 500 km of the Camino de Santiago and staying in pilgrim hostels. Firsthand experience is supplemented by readings on the spiritual practice of pilgrimage and accounts written by pilgrims.

As they walk, students meet fellow pilgrims and learn their motivations, their insights and the highlights of their journeys. Students participate in individual and group worship. Written and oral reflection on the themes and questions that arise as student participate in pilgrimage alone and with others. No knowledge of Spanish language required.

Academics

This course will fulfill the CCE requirement.  PE Credit.
