Create Your Own Strength Workout
Class Description

Ever walk into the Fitness Center and wonder “what should I be doing?” Professor John Sparks will lead this three session class empowering you to formulate and mold your training program with a replicable and easy to remember formula. Session #1 will focus on the most effective and efficient core training exercises. Session #2 and #3 three will focus on 6 movement patterns and the progression of exercises within each. By the end you will feel equipped with a sustainable workout plan for the remainder of the semester.

Cost is $20.
  • Tuesdays during Interim (January 9, 16, and 23), 12:00 – 12:50 PM, Fitness Classroom (VN 110).
Class Description

If you are looking for an exercise class that will build strength, stamina, flexibility and balance, check out Yoga. Participants will be led through classic yoga postures and exercises that will have you leaving class feeling relaxed and rejuvenated!

Cost is $10.
  • Intermediate: Tuesdays/Thursdays, 6:45–7:30 AM, HC 300 – Dance Loft (Andre).
  • Beginner/Intermediate: Tuesdays/Thursdays, 12:00-12:45 PM, HC 252 - Dance Studio (Andre).
  • Beginners: Tuesdays/Thursdays, 4:30–5:15 PM, HC 300 Dance Loft (Andre).
Class Description

Biking with a group is usually easier than by yourself. This class adds motivating music and instruction as you bike up and down hills...sprint in and out of the saddle...and challenge yourself to pedal harder than you normally would on your rides outside. If you enjoy a challenge and want a good calorie burn, this class is a must to try!

Cost is $10.

Tai Chi
Class Description

The ancient Chinese art of Tai Chi consists of a series of gentle and rhythmic movements that incorporate breath coordination, muscle relaxation, and posture alignment. Tai Chi is recognized as a method of exercise that can help relieve chronic pain, tone muscles, enhance balance and coordination, help lower heart rate and blood pressure, and be beneficial for stress reduction!

Cost is $15 with a minimum of 8 participants.
  • Mondays/Wednesdays, 4:45-5:30 PM, HC 252 - Dance Studio (John).
WERQ & Zumba
Class Description

WERQ and Zumba are fun dance fitness class based on pop, rock, salsa and hip hop music!  No dance experience is necessary. Athletic shoes are required (Tuesdays - Zumba; Thursdays - WERQ)

Cost is $10.
  • Tuesdays & Thursdays, 12:30-1:15pm, Van Noord North Gym (Anne).
Exercise Balls & Bands
Class Description

Balls and Bands is a total body workout. Exercise balls and resistance bands are used to strengthen and stretch your entire body. If your fitness goals include better posture, balance, flexibility and muscular strength, then this class is for you! All fitness levels are welcome. 

Cost is $15 with a minimum of 8 participants.
  • Mon. & Wed., 12:30-1:15pm, Dance Studio, HC 252 (Amanda).
Group Personal Training
Class Description

This class involves small-group personal training tailored to fit the needs of the group, as well as the individual. Class size is limited to 5 individuals. Training will include cardio, strength training, flexibility and core work. This class is open to all experience and fitness levels. This class meets once a week for an hour, but you can sign up for more than one session.

Note: each training session is dependent upon having an available trainer.

Cost is $15.
  • Mondays – 11:30 or 12:30
  • Tuesdays – 11:30 or 12:30
  • Wednesdays – 11:30 or 12:30
  • Thursdays – 11:30 or 12:30
  • Fridays – 11:30 or 12:30
