Mental health crisis support
In the event of an emergency, contact Campus Safety, 616-526-3333, at any time, day or night.
During business hours
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis during office hours, you may stop by or call the Center for Counseling and Wellness (616-526-6123) and indicate that you are in crisis. Students presenting for crisis care are asked to complete crisis paperwork to help the crisis counselor understand their situation and determine the urgency of their need. Appointments are arranged for as soon as possible, based on the particular needs of each student. In situations when a crisis counselor is not available, students will be referred to crisis resources in the community as needed (see below).
After-hours and week-end resources
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis outside of office hours, you have access to 24/7 support through the following community partners:
- Pine Rest Psychiatric Urgent Care Center (check website for hours)
- Pine Rest Contact Center (24/7)
