Use Handshake to find jobs on campus or off campus. Remember, Calvin does not screen off-campus employers, so use caution and wise judgement when interviewing for and accepting jobs.
Steps to complete before you begin your job
- Once you are offered a job on campus, complete payroll forms (find tax packets for new student hires) and bring them to the payroll office (Spoelhof Center 370) during regular office hours. Please note: The government mandates that all U.S. citizens provide documentation to prove identity. Please review the list of acceptable ORIGINAL documents that you must present when turning in your tax packet to the Payroll Office.
- After completing the above paperwork, you will receive an Authorization to Work Card. Give this card to your employer.
- For you to be paid, your supervisor must submit an eCard on your behalf. The eCard is how you get added to Calvin’s payroll system, and you enter your time in the portal.
- International students are subject to different rules and regulations. Please stop by the payroll office with your I-20, Passport, Visa, and a copy of your I-94 (obtainable on the web). Payroll will review the circumstances for each international student as they present unique differences when getting a job on campus.
