An enrollment deposit is required of all enrolling first-year, transfer and re-admitted students. This deposit serves as a confirmation of your plan to enroll at Calvin and is credited to your statement of Miscellaneous Charges. It is used as payment towards the orientation fee, housing application fee, (for students living on campus) Career Services Fee and any other charges the student might put on this account. The remainder is available for you to use towards other college expenses.
U.S. and Canadian students: $300
International students: $2,500
Estimated book and school supply costs, per year: $1,100.
To ensure that students have access to necessary medical care, Calvin requires all students who are enrolled in 6 or more credits to have health insurance coverage. The college offers coverage for you if you need it. United HealthCare provides year round coverage for $1,300. You will be automatically enrolled in United HealthCare unless you provide proof of comparable coverage and sign a waiver form by the specified date.
Detailed, up-to-date information is available at the Health Services website. If a student has valid health insurance that provides (major medical) coverage while studying at Calvin College, an online waiver form demonstrating adequate coverage must be completed. However, please do not assume that a plan provides coverage: it is strongly recommended that students investigate carefully with their insurance company prior to completing the waiver. Motor vehicles owned or operated by Calvin students must be properly registered with Campus Safety and must carry an official college parking permit.
One Year Parking Permit: $150
