BSME, Michigan Technological University, 1991Her Masters thesis, “A 2-Dimensional Kinematic and Dynamic Model of the Knee Joint” was based upon foundational research as a summer intern at the Orthopedic Gait Lab at the Mayo Clinic.
From 1993 to 1996, she worked as an engineer at Ford Motor Company. This was followed by three years as a Resident and New Product Development engineer at Steelcase, Wood Division, where she held a prior Co-Op. Recently, she became certified to teach secondary math and computer science, and has supported students at local school districts, including Kentwood, Hastings, Kent ISD and Grand Rapids Christian.
