Module Description

The biblical theme of hospitality has played a significant role in recent theological writing as a lens for thinking about a range of topics, including civic and religious diversity, education, intercultural learning, and disability. This course focuses on the biblical concept of hospitality and how it can function as vehicle for connecting faith and learning in higher education.

In this module, you will:

  • Analyze the biblical theme of hospitality in selected texts
  • Describe how Christian scholars have sought to relate hospitality to their work in higher education
  • Identify applications of the idea of hospitality in the work of scholars in disciplines outside of theology
  • Develop an outline of how hospitality could inform your teaching or scholarship
