Student Staff Team: The Student Research Assistants are comprised of a team of Calvin students who are constantly being trained in new research tools and practices. Currently, we have the following students on our team:
Taylor Hartson is a junior studying sociology, psychology, and writing. Between being a student in three programs, the editor-in-chief of an arts publication, and a research assistant, she doesn’t have time for much else, but when she does, she likes to spend it drinking black coffee, listening to hip hop, and petting dogs.
Judy Kwon is a junior, and her majors are Sociology and Computer Science. Judy calls Peru home, and she enjoys travel. Her other interests include playing sports and cooking, but she insists her main love is eating!
Marissa McGahan is a senior studying Psychology and Spanish. In addition to working at CSR she is a member of both the cross country and track teams and loves to run, take naps, and spend time with her family.
Adriene Pendery is a senior majoring in Psychology. She enjoys working on data visualizations in Tableau. When she’s not at CSR, Adriene enjoys baking, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
Ivanna Rodríguez, a junior, is studying Economics and International Development at Calvin. Ivanna comes to us from Tegucigalpa, Honduras; back home, she and her Mom own seven dogs. Why? Because they love dogs!.
Comfort Sampong is a senior studying Economics and International Development Studies. She grew up in the Washington, D.C. area but is grateful that the cities of Accra, Tegucigalpa, and Grand Rapids have influenced her life. Maps, cultural history, and swiss cheese plants are just a few of the many things that fascinate her.
Jordan Smith, a Calvin senior majoring in Psychology, shows a lot of competency in data management. Jordan pursues music and baking in her spare time.
Blake Staat is a senior majoring in Psychology and Sociology; he enjoys the idea of unpackaging and telling stories through research and data analysis. In his spare time, you can find him watching and picking apart a movie, engaging in a discussion with friends, or trying to find the perfectly composed album.
