Christian Witness and Ministry in a COVID-Shaped World: Communication Media for Ministry

  • June 22, 2020–July 10, 2020

Ministry now happens through devices and screens—but are you smart about technology? Be equipped to guide your church, ministry, or other organization using digital tools.

Course overview

If you’re involved in ministry, then you’re a professional communicator—and your job just got a lot harder.

You might feel overwhelmed when you think about engaging your church or community using digital tools. And it can be difficult to select and excel at the platform you choose. You should be focused on your message, not frustrated with technology.

This course will help. Communication expert Garth Pauley will be your guide as you develop a philosophy and a plan for using communication media and technology fruitfully, reverently, and professionally. You’ll leave feeling equipped and confident in the use of communication technology to reach those who depend on you for truth and guidance.

Course distinctives

  • Faith-based approach—At Calvin, we believe that communication in any medium should speak truth, inspire action, and respect the dignity of your audience.
  • Open to all—You don’t need to be a technology expert to take this course. In fact, you’ll get the most out of it if you’re not.
  • Practical for leaders—If you’re a pastor, church elder, worship leader, or student interested in ministry, you’ll gain a confident understanding of how media and technology can facilitate worship.
