KnightCap Series: How artificial intelligence connects bytes and beliefs - CANCELED

This event has been canceled. Please check back for further information!

Join Derek Schuurman, professor of computer science, for the Calvin KnightCap Series. Prof. Schuurman will present "How artificial intelligence connects bytes and beliefs."

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is making remarkable strides in tackling difficult problems and spurring applications in many new areas. Some predict these new developments will usher in a new age of prosperity while others fear it will pose an existential threat to our existence. Responses to these developments illustrate how preexisting beliefs inform our approach to AI.

The talk will conclude by sketching how the Christian faith can shape norms and values for moving forward responsibly with AI.
