The Henry Institute Series on Public and Non-Profit Leadership presents: JR DeGroot, Vice President of Operations and Finance, Crossroads Prison Ministries will share his own professional journey about how he became involved with Public and Non-Profit entities. All are welcome to attend.

Careers in government service and the non-profit sector require specific leadership, theoretical, and technical skills which are critical to successful operations and implementing sound public policy. This series hosts individuals who have chosen a career in public and non-profit leadership as they consider the challenges and rewards of their work. This week's guest is JR DeGroot.

With a BA in business and accounting from Calvin College and 30 years of business experience, JR lives for financials, budgets, forecasts—anything that can live in a spreadsheet. Before coming to Crossroads in 2015, he worked for 23 years in the private corrections industry, managing finances and operations of multiple facilities across the country. He has been married to his wife, Laura, for 30 years and has twin daughters who are both Calvin grads. He’s a native of Chicago but grew up in Colorado, where he developed a passion for the Rockies, Broncos and University of Colorado Buffaloes.

Crossroads connects prisoners with mentors in Christ-centered relationships so that lives, prisons and churches are restored through the Gospel. For more information about Crossroads Prison Ministries, click here.
