The Mathematics & Statistics Colloquium welcomes Dr. Lisa Hernandez on October 28 to deliver a lecture entitled "Not Naught for Knots."
Knots have long fascinated people throughout history and across civilizations, but they are also fascinating mathematically. This talk will give a brief overview of the development of knot theory and introduction to some of its fundamental concepts. Some results in Mosaic Knots will be discussed.
Join us for light refreshments in the Reading Room at 3:30 pm, immediately followed by the lecture in NH 276.
